The Client

Reading Dental Anaesthetic Clinic are based just outside Reading town centre delivering dental treatment to privately registered patients from the Thames Valley area. As well as normal dental procedures the clinic also specialises in treating nervuous patients using intravenous sedation.

Background

The Reading Dental Anaesthetic Clinic already had a website, but it wasn't capturing any traffic in key searches related to the services offered. A number of local competitors were displayed in the top 3 for service specific searches and Gerrit Snyman the practice owner was keen to emulate that success through his own website. With no analytical package on the current it wasn't possible to understand how user were finding the site or what they were doing if they did. Whilst updating the site it was a good opportunity to add a number of documents that could be downloaded by both patients and refering dental practices. Here the aim was to reduce the overhead on staff and ensure patients arrived with the correct forms already completed.

The Solution

The site would be re-designed to better reflect the current market and to enhance the representation of the business. The content would be updated and optimised for the particular market. MSI Commerce provided recommendations on keywords and proposed ideas for key pages to increase the chances of the site being found in the natural search results.

Google Analytics would be integrated into the site allowing future analysis of key user activity, help drive further development. The site would also use Google Maps to provide an interactive map system with the practice location predefined as the page opens. This provides a very user friendly map system, helping patients locate the practice in the local area.

Finally the key documentation would be added to the site in PDF format. Adobe reader is a free tool for reading PDF documents, allowing user access to the content and the ability to print, without the need for an expensive application. With the documents available on the site both patients and dentists can access them, reducing costs in postage and staff time.
