Inkwell & Ivy, a niche supplier of authentic American and Ivy League apparel have a retail outlet in Guildford, Surry through which they sell 3 exclusive lines. As well as selling Ivy League clothing they also have exclusive rights to retail Gwen Stafani's Harajuku Lovers and Floto leather bags.

Background

Ink Well and Ivy already have an online presence, but were receiving little no significant traffic. Due to the application the site had been built in there was limited search engine optimisation and this was restricting the success in the search engine rankings. With the lead up to Christmas about to start Ink Well and Ivy were keen to drive new traffic without the need for a site revamp in a critically busy time of the year.

The Solution

Pay per click advertising was chosen as a great way to drive traffic to the site with minimal upfront investment (Review the MSI PPC Solutions page for further information).

MSI Commerce conducted keyword research to understand user searches in the three markets Ink Well and Ivy were conducting business in. Then delivered a 2 hour session setting up the account and demonstrating the tasks in running the campaigns.

With notes from the session and telephone support the staff at Ink Well and Ivy have gone on to create their own adverts and manage them.

The Results

The site has seen a dramatic increase in traffic, with users being directed to product specific pages. The site is now being displayed in the sponsored listings of Google tens of thousands of time a month. Although not all of these result in click throughs it does add to brand awareness. The end result is an uplift in sales through the online channel.
